Franklin County agrees to survey Eastpoint Visitor Center property

Franklin county commissioners have agreed to have a survey done for the Eastpoint visitor’s center.

The 2.6 acres was once used for a highway patrol station, but was purchased by the county in 2013 and was renovated for use as a visitor center and the offices of the Franklin county Tourist Development Council.

The property was not surveyed after the purchase.

The TDC is currently working on a plan to add a seafood workers memorial to the site, but said they need to know exactly where the property boundaries are for that project to move forward.
