Franklin County hopes to lure aviation company to local airport

Franklin County hopes that a company that makes airplane transport equipment might want to locate here.
The county recently submitted a proposal to Enterprise Florida to be considered as the future site for a company that manufactures equipment to move airplanes around on the ground.
County Coordinator Michael moron said the company needs space at an airport to build a 100 thousand square foot hangar.
The company would provide 85 jobs with an average wage of 46 thousand dollars a year.
Franklin County will likely be competing with locations around Florida and possibly along the Gulf Coast, but county commissioners say it is certainly worth trying to bring the company here.

They say a company like could help diversify our economy beyond seafood and tourism.
