FWC has money for artificial reef projects

The Florida fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is now taking applications for the Florida Artificial reef Program.

The program has about 600,000 thousand dollars for artificial reef construction and monitoring.

The program will provide 60 thousand dollars per project – though groups can apply for more than that.

The money will be made available to coastal governments, public universities and certain nonprofit groups.

Applications must be received no later than Friday, March 18th and the grants should be awarded by July the 1st.

Groups interested in downloading an application can go on-line to myfwc.com.
