There will be a training class
tonight for people who are interested in helping with the 2016 Homeless
Point-in-time count, an annual survey that provides a snapshot of how many
people are homeless in Franklin County on any given day.
If you would like to help, the training
will be held at 6:30 at the Franklin County School District Office at 85 School
Road in Eastpoint.
The survey itself will be done on
January the 26th, 27th and 28th.
During the survey, volunteers
will count local homeless people and families - including people who are
unsheltered as well as those in shelters and transitional housing programs.
The count is very important in
bringing funding for homeless services to Franklin County.
To sign up as a volunteer or to
get more information call Sandi Hengle, Franklin County Schools Homeless
Liaison at 323-0982
