Weems Memorial
Hospital has hired a new director for the county’s ambulance service.
The hospital this week announced the
hiring of Mr. Jarrod Wester who will serve as Director of Emergency Medical
Services.
Jarrod is originally from Gulf County
where he dual enrolled in PSJ High School and Gulf Coast Community College and completed
his EMT coursework before his high school graduation.
He has a lot of experience and is certified
as a paramedic and a flight paramedic.
He also
completed the Critical Care
Emergency Transport Program at the University of Maryland and the Air Medical
Crew Curriculum Course at the University of Florida.
He is certified as an instructor for
the American Heart Association, the National Association of EMTs, and in International
Trauma Life Support.
He is no stranger to rural healthcare
in the Florida Panhandle and is passionate about clinical education.
Jarrod, along with his wife, Kory and
three young children are looking forward to relocating to Franklin County, and becoming
involved in the community.
