All Mediacom channels will soon be digital

Mediacom is making some technical changes to its network that will affect people using older analog televisions.

Mediacom said that beginning April the 5th local channels and other stations on the lower numbered channels will no longer be viewable on analog televisions without a digital converter box.

The change will impact viewers who watch local stations out of Panama City and possibly WCTV channel 6 out of Tallahassee – that includes viewers in Franklin and Gulf Counties.

Depending on the community, up to 13 channels will convert to digital-only signal.

Subscribers who already use a Mediacom Digital Tuner Adapter or a cable set-top box will not be affected; nor will viewers who own a newer-model digital ready television.

If you have an older tv, don’t worry.

Mediacom is making Digital Tuner Adapters available in both standard and high-definition formats.

Current customers can receive at least one Digital Tuner Adapter for free through March 2017.

You can call Mediacom to order your adapter or stop by their local office.
