Apalachicola man seriously injured in early nmorning crash in Eastpoint

An Apalachicola man was seriously injured in a single vehicle accident in Eastpoint early Friday morning while two others in his vehicle were only slightly hurt.

The Highway patrol said 48 year old Richard Flowers of Apalachicola was taken to Bay medical for treatment after driving his 1999 GMC truck into a ditch.

Flowers was heading east on Highway 98 in Eastpoint with two other people at about 330 in the morning when he drove across the westbound lane into a 6 foot ditch.

The truck then hit a culvert and address pole before coming to rest in a driveway.

The Highway patrol said the accident was not alcohol related – they are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
