Franklin County signs auction agreement with on-line auction company

If you ever want to buy any of the old or damaged equipment that the county government can’t use anymore, it will soon be available for sale on-line.


The County commission this month signed an auction services contract with a company called Global Auction Services.


The company will create an inventory list of all of Franklin County’s old or damaged equipment
Like computers, office furniture and vehicles.


Constitutional offices will also be able to take part in the auction.


The company will then create an online marketplace, similar to ebay, where people can bid on the items.


County officials said the service will take some of the work off the county finance office.


The proceeds from the auctions will go back into the general fund.
