The Apalachicola National Estuarine
Research Reserve in Eastpoint is currently looking for volunteers to help at
the reserve.
Volunteer
duties range from greeting visitors in the Nature Center to assisting researchers
with field work.
Some
of the jobs include tending the gift shop in the Nature Center or maintaining
the native plant garden.
Volunteers
will also be needed to help at the Estuaries Day Celebration on September
the 23rd and to conduct morning sea turtle nest surveys next summer.
The
reserve also needs people to be on call to drive injured birds to a
rehabilitation facility in Wakulla County when needed and to help rescue hooked
sea turtles and transport them to the Gulf Specimen Marine Lab or Gulf World.
