Book Your Trip to Mexico Beach Today for Fall Fun!

MBARA Kingfish Tournament - Wrap
The Mexico Beach Artificial Reef Association (MBARA) hosted its 20th Annual Kingfish Tournament on August 27, and it was a big success. This organization is a good friend to Mexico Beach and has been doing many wonderful things for our city for many years. The tournament had a turnout of 523 anglers with 135 boats participating. The overall winner was Chris Hatcher on Salt Shaker with a catch of a 48.82 lb. kingfish! Congrats to team Salt Shaker and all the other winners. All tournament proceeds will go to support and fund the MBARA’s focus of reef development and research. More information and a complete list of winners can be found at www.MBARA.org.
THE FLAG MAN
We had a visit from an old friend, Jacob, who travels down from Minnesota every year to enjoy our beautiful beaches. Each visit, Jacob sets up an assortment of flags on the beach out in front of the El Governor Motel. His collection includes flags from all branches of the military as well as the American flag. Jacob says that he likes showcasing his flags for others to enjoy and feels it brings a nice touch to the beach, and we agree. We send a big “Thank You” to Jacob and his wife for spending time with us on our beach.
AND THE
WINNER IS...
Last month, we had a discount coupon from Forgotten Coast Property Management and Rentals up for grabs. The winner was Olivia Field from Seneca, South Carolina. Congrats, Olivia, and enjoy your future stay in Mexico Beach.

This month we’ll be giving away a gift certificate to Caribbean Coffee. This colorful, laid-back cafĂ© with a gift shop serves coffees, teas, pastries, and sandwiches. To put your name in the hat, send an e-mail to Melissa (melissa@mexicobeach.com) and be sure to put your contact info in the e-mail.

HELPFUL WISDOM
Makeup: what it takes to look natural.

Tolerance: the uncomfortable feeling that the other fellow might be right after all.

Wealth: any income that is at least a hundred dollars a year more than the income of your sister-in-law’s husband.

Synonym: a word you use when you can’t spell the word you first thought of.

The law of retail: Security isn’t. Management can’t. Sales promotions don’t. Customer assistance doesn’t. Workers won’t.

To err is human—to blame it on someone else is even more human.

The more time you spend in reporting on what you are doing, the less time you have to do anything. Stability is achieved when you spend all your time doing nothing but reporting on the nothing you are doing.

The last rush-hour express bus to your neighborhood leaves five minutes before you get off work.
