Chipley – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is providing an update on state road and bridge closures and restrictions in Northwest Florida due to Hurricane Hermine.
Franklin County
· The St. George Island Bridge is closed.
Jefferson County
· State Road (S.R.) 59 partially blocked at Page Road due to debris on the road.
Leon County
· U.S. 319 closed at Cemetery Road due to debris on the road.
· U.S. 90 blocked at Sunray Road due to debris on the road.
· Mahan Drive (U.S. 90) is closed at Pedrick Road due to downed power lines and debris on the road.
· Capital Circle NE (S.R. 261) partially blocked south of Centerville Road due to debris on the road.
Wakulla County
· S.R. 363 South is closed from U.S. 98 to the Leon County line due to flooding.
· S.R. 267 closed from Crawfordville to Woodville Highway (S.R. 363) due to downed power lines and debris on the road.
· Sopchoppy Highway (U.S. 319) closed at Carraway Cutoff due to downed power lines and debris on the road.
· Crawfordville Highway (U.S. 319) closed at Trumpet Lane due to downed power lines and debris on the road.
Motorists are encouraged to monitor weather reports and road conditionsand to be on the lookout for flooded roads. If the road ahead is flooded, turn around and find an alternate route. Flooded roads may hide the fact that the roadway is washed out underneath and as little as six inches of rushing water can force your car off the road.
