Gulf Council's Law Enforcement Technical Committee to Meet
 
The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will convene a meeting of its Law Enforcement Technical Committee in conjunction with the Law Enforcement Committee of the Gulf States Marine Fishery Commission.
 
The Committees will meet on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the JW Marriott New Orleans located at 614 Canal Street, New Orleans, Louisiana.
 
The Gulf Council's Law Enforcement Technical Committee will address the following items:
  • Officer of the Year Award Candidates
  • Draft Reef Fish Amendment 36A - Commercial IFQ Program Modifications
  • Draft Reef Fish Amendment 42 - Federal Reef Fish Headboat Management
  • Draft Reef Fish Amendment 36 - Gray Triggerfish Rebuilding Plan
  • Draft Generic Amendment to Require Electronic Reporting for For-hire Vessels
 
The Law Enforcement Technical Committee consists of principal law enforcement officers from each of the Gulf States, as well as NOAA Law Enforcement, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the NOAA General Counsel for Law Enforcement.
 
About the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council
The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council is one of eight regional Fishery Management Councils established by the Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976. The Council prepares fishery management plans, which are designed to manage fishery resources within the 200-mile limit of the Gulf of Mexico.
