Colonel
James DeLapp, the new Commander and District Engineer, of the Mobile
District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be in Apalachicola
on Friday and the public is invited to come meet him.
Colonel DeLapp
assumed command in June of this year.
He
is currently touring the Apalachicola Chattahoochee Flint River basin
The
Franklin county and Apalachicola Commissions are hosting a meet and
greet with the new colonel over lunch at the Owl Café from Noon to
2:00 on Friday.
Presentations
will be made by Apalachicola Mayor Van Johnson and Franklin County
Commissioner Smokey Parrish along with representatives of the U.S.
Fish & Wildlife Service, the Franklin County Seafood Workers
Association and the Apalachicola Riverkeepers.
The
presentations will be followed by a discussion with the Colonel.
