The Gulf Specimen
Marine Lab in Panacea says it has almost reached its fund-raising
goal to repair its “living dock.”
Storm surge from Hurricane Hermine took
out most of the lab’s living dock when the storm made landfall in
early September in Wakulla County.
The Marine lab uses the living dock as
a prime location for teaching.
Thousands of students come to the dock
every year for field trips and more.
Most of the dock planks were ripped
away.
It’s estimated the storm caused more
than $25,000 dollars in damages to the dock.
The Marine Lab has raised about 20
thousand for repairs and is hoping to raise about 5000 dollars more
You can help the Marine Lab "Save
