Area 1622 of the Apalachicola Bay reopens to oyster harvesting at sunrise Wednesday

Area 1622 of the Apalachicola Bay will reopen to oyster harvesting at sunrise Wednesday.

Area 1622 is the conditionally approved winter west 2 area which includes Dry Bar and cabbage top.

The area has been closed since January the 25th because of high river levels.

Recent water samples taken from the area show that water quality is now sufficient for oyster harvesting.
