It will soon be easier to get to the historic Chapman building in Apalachicola

It will soon be easier to get to the historic Chapman building in Apalachicola.

County officials have approved a plan to to create a direct access to the Chapman Building from Highway 98.

The Chapman Building is owned by the County but in order to access the building currently you either have to cross property owned by the City of Apalachicola or the Franklin County School District.

The plan is to open 13th Street in front of the Chapman Building which will allow people to get to the building from Highway 98.

The fence in front of the building has already been removed for the project and the road department will remove a tree stump in that same area.

The work will be done by Roberts and Roberts – the project will likely take two months to complete.
