GULF COUNTY TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO TRAFFICKING IN METH CHARGES


Sheriff Mike Harrison announces the arrest of Joseph W. Sketoe (42) and Brian D. Traylor (41). The arrest was the result of a traffic stop conducted at State Road 71 and Lester
Drive in Wewahitchka.

Sketoe and Traylor were traveling together in a red Chevrolet pickup truck and were stopped for a traffic violation. Investigator S. Ferrell and K-9 Deputy M. Peek conducted
the stop. Deputy Peek’s partner, K-9 Brix, assisted in the investigation and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded two ounces of
methamphetamine, less than twenty grams of marijuana, and multiple prescription medications classified as controlled substances, and digital scales.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Traylor was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of Controlled Substance (Alprazolam), Possession of
Controlled Substance (Lorazepam), Possession of Controlled Substance (Oxycodone), Possession of Controlled Substance (Balacet), Possession of Less Than Twenty Grams of
Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Sketoe was charged with Possession of Less Than Twenty Grams of Marijuana. Both were transported to the Gulf County
Detention Facility and held for First Appearance.
