Gulf Coast State College is making it easier for local students to go to college

Gulf Coast State College is making it easier for local students to go to college.

The Gulf Coast State College foundation is launching a new program called “The Gulf Coast Guarantee” offering scholarships to every senior in Bay, Gulf and Franklin Counties.

The program is for students who enroll at Gulf Coast State College and maintain a 2.0 grade point average.

They will be given $1,400 a year to attend Gulf Coast.

It is hoped the program will attract students who want to go to college but feel they can't afford it.

Any 2021 public, private or homeschooled graduating senior is eligible.

There is no application process, all those students have to do is enroll for 12 credit hours a semester.

The program will begin this Fall for students in Bay, Gulf, and Franklin counties.

The money is in addition to any existing scholarships that students might have.
