The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council has extended the deadline for people who would like to serve on one of its various Scientific and Statistical Committees.
Members are needed for 9 different committees including committees on mackerel, red drum, shrimp and reef fish.
The Committees are made up of people with expertise in statistics, fisheries biology, marine ecology, economics, sociology, anthropology, or other special sciences that might apply to fisheries management.
Committee members serve a three-year term.
To apply to one of the Council Scientific and Statistical Committees go on-line to gulfcouncil.org and click on the link for forms.
The applications must be received by 5 PM on May the 15th.
