61 percent of Franklin County residents 50 years and older have received their COVID-19 vaccination

61 percent of Franklin County residents 50 years and older have received their COVID-19 vaccination.


In Gulf County, 52 percent of residents 50 and older have received their vaccine.


The health department has not yet released vaccination numbers of those under 50, though everyone 16 and over is now eligible to begin their COVID vaccinations.


COVID-19 vaccinations are available at the Health departments in Apalachicola and Port St. Joe.


You can schedule your first shot by calling The Health Department in Apalachicola at 653-2111 or in Gulf County at 227-1276.


As of Saturday, Franklin County has seen 1324 COVID cases since the pandemic began and 17 deaths.


The Department of Health reports our positivity rate at 6 percent – the state average is 5 percent.


Gulf County has seen 1966 cases and 44 deaths with a positivity rate of 6 percent.
