County commissioners have started the process of choosing companies to provide debris removal services after a major storm.
Clean-up after a storm is much quicker and easier if the county already has a contract with a firm that specializes in that type of work.
The commission voted last week to advertise for proposals for companies to remove storm debris as well as companies to monitor debris removal.
That includes advertising for the City of Carrabelle and the City of Apalachicola and the Special District of Dog Island.
The municipalities and special district will then have to sign their own contracts.
