The month of May is National Pet Month and the Apalachicola Margaret Key Library and the Franklin County Humane Society have joined together to create a fun way to brag about your pet.

If you want to take part, dress your pet up as your favorite author or character from a book and take a picture.

Then bring in or email the picture to the Apalachicola library with a label of who they are portraying.

The e-mail address is amklibrary2017@gmail.com

And when you get a chance, come by the library and vote for your favorites – The winner will be announced at the end of the month based on the pet with the most votes.

And while you're at the library, make a donation to the Humane Society.

They can use anything from cash to bleach and laundry detergent, cat litter, and sheets, blankets and towels.

And of course canned dog and cat food.

If you have any old stuffed animals, they can use those too.
