Franklin County unemployment fell slightly in August to 4.3 percent – it was 4.4 percent in July

Franklin County unemployment fell slightly in August to 4.3 percent – it was 4.4 percent in July.


That means 220 people were out of work in August down from 223 the month before.


15 counties had lower unemployment rates than ours.


Wakulla County had the fourth lowest unemployment rate in the state at 3.8 percent – that was down from 4 percent the month before.


Gulf County unemployment fell from 4.1 percent to 4 percent with 218 people out of work there.


Liberty County unemployment increased from 4.8 to 5 percent.


Florida's unemployment as a whole was also 5 percent.
