to Host Virtual Public Meeting

WHAT:         Redevelopment Planning Public Meeting

WHEN:        5:30 to 7:30 p.m. EDT
                    Monday, Sept. 20, 2021

WHERE:      Virtual Meeting on GoTo Webinar.

HOW:           Register to attend the virtual meeting.

DEP's Florida Park Service will present plan concepts for redevelopment of T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park after damages incurred during Hurricane Michael in October 2018. Citizens are invited to attend the public meeting to learn about the proposed plans and to provide their comments.

The virtual meeting will be held via GoToWebinar and registration is available. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with information about joining the webinar.

The public notice, agenda and meeting materials are available online. Copies also may be obtained by emailing Daniel.Alsentzer@FloridaDEP.gov or calling 850-245-3051.

There will be a presentation outlining the redevelopment planning proposals and staff will be available to answer questions and accept public comment. Comments also can be submitted to FLStateParkPlanning@FloridaDEP.gov until Oct. 4, 2021.

Park redevelopment plans that are being discussed include:

  • Renovation of existing visitor access and support facilities parkwide.
  • Construction of new and replacement facilities.
  • Restoration of dunes and other natural features.
  • Plans for reopening day-use access and overnight accommodations for visitors.
