The Eastpoint Civic Association is seeking a Highway Beautification grant to help clean up portions of Highway 98 through the town

The Eastpoint Civic Association is seeking a Highway Beautification grant to help clean up portions of Highway 98 through the town.

The Eastpoint Civic Association was formed to help revitalize Eastpoint, particularly the commercial area along Highway 98.

Betty Webb, representing the group said that while the money would go the the Civic Association, Franklin County has to apply for the money, just as they did when St. George Island applied for grants to beautify the entrance to the island.

She said if the grant is approved the money will be used to enhance the gateway signage entering Eastpoint and will be used for planting at the intersection of Patton drive and Highway 98.
