Two inmates escaped from the Gulf County Detention Facility on Tuesday morning, one was recaptured in Franklin County just a few hours later.
29 year old Rex Aaron Veasey, Jr. and 43 year old Chad Edward Johnson escaped from the Gulf County Detention Facility early Tuesday morning.
Veasey was in prison on charges of Sexual Battery with a Weapon on a Victim between 12 and 17 years of age, Aggravated Assault, False Imprisonment, and Escape.
Johnson was being held in Gulf County for the Liberty County Jail on 15 counts of Possession of Child Pornography, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and Attempted Escape.
Rex Aaron Veasey, Jr.,was captured in Franklin County early Tuesday afternoon.
Veasey was spotted in a wooded area on Box R Ranch.
He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Franklin County Jail.
Veasey will have additional charges for escape and attempted murder on a correctional officer.
The Gulf County Sheriff’s Office continues to search for Chad Edward Johnson.
Authorities beieve he stole a 2006 Ford E-350 15 passenger van with Florida Tag 7039XP .
It has "Paul Gant BBQ" written on the side of it.
Johnson was last seen wearing orange shorts and a short-sleeve white shirt.
He is a white male, 6’ 00” tall, weighs approximately 215 lbs. and has blue eyes with short brown hair and a beard.

Panhandle Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 cash reward information that leads to the arrest of Johnson.
