Thank you, thank you to the many people who have supported Apalachicola Riverkeeper's RiverTrek 2021 Team so far! The volunteer kayak team's fundraising efforts directly support Apalachicola Riverkeeper's outreach, advocacy, education and citizen science work.
These dynamic team members have been out talking with neighbors, co-workers and friends for several months, raising awareness of the importance of Florida's Apalachicola River and Bay--while also raising funds for the continued work of Apalachicola Riverkeeper. Did you catch them on WFSU this week?
The RiverTrek 2021 Team will launch at the Hopkins Park boat ramp in Chattahoochee, Florida this Wednesday. They will travel the entirety of the Apalachicola River taking some side trips and meeting with guest speakers along the way. Follow their journey towards the Gulf of Mexico into Apalachicola, where they will arrive on Sunday, October 10. We know we'll see some of you there with cold drinks in hand for this hard working volunteer team! They're giving in their all. And we're grateful.
The RiverTrek Team will arrive under the bridge in Apalachicola at 10-Foot Hole, near Battery Park, likely between 4-5pm. Watch for updates on social media. Links can be found at the bottom of this page.
Together, we'll continue our work to protect the Apalachicola River, Floodplain and Bay. We are all Apalachicola Riverkeeper. Thank you! |
