A Port St. Joe man was sentenced on Friday to thirty years in federal prison after pleading guilty to drug and firearm charges

A Port St. Joe man was sentenced on Friday to thirty years in federal prison after pleading guilty to drug and firearm charges.


44 year old Ruben Ivan Fuller was sentenced for numerous drug offenses including selling methamphetamine to lower-level drug dealers.


In 2019 he was stopped at Tyndall Air Force Base where he was found in possession of marijuana, methamphetamine, a .380 pistol and ammunition.


As a result of his criminal conduct, Fuller pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture containing methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense, and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.


Fuller’s criminal history includes eight prior felony convictions, six of which involved narcotics distribution.


Fuller qualified as an Armed Career Criminal and a Career Offender and was subject to increased Federal sentencing penalties.


This case resulted from a joint investigation by federal, state and local agencies including the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
