Franklin County is seeking state money to enhance two local parks and plan to hold two public meetings this afternoon to discuss the projects

Franklin County is seeking state money to enhance two local parks and plan to hold two public meetings this afternoon to discuss the projects.


The county is seeking a grant through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s FRDAP program for enhancements to parks and recreation facilities.


The Commission hopes to get funding to enhance the St. George Island Playground next to the lighthouse and Vrooman Park in Eastpoint.


The county is seeking input and feedback from the public and will hold two meeting this afternoon to discuss the projects.


If you would like your voice your opinion on what you'd like to see happen with the playground improvements on St. George Island, come to the SGI Volunteer Fire Department on E. Pine Street this afternoon at 5:15 p.m. 


If you would like to voice your opinions on ballfield Improvements at Vrooman Park in Eastpoint come to the Franklin County Courthouse Annex in Apalachicola this afternoon at 6:30 p.m.
