An elderly Carrabelle woman was critically injured in a two vehicle accident on highway 98 on Thursday.
The Highway patrol said the 75 year old was heading west on Highway 98 at about 3:15 in the afternoon and was about a mile east of Highway 65 when his SUV was hit head-on by an eastbound sedan driven by a 32 year old man from Apalachicola.
Multiple witnesses told the highway patrol that the sedan had unsuccessfully attempted to pass numerous vehicles at once.
The driver of the sedan was transported to TMH with only minor injuries.
The Carrabelle driver was flown to Bay Medical in critical condition where she was taken into surgery.
