The Herman and Pam Jones/Depot Creek Collection and the Lost City of St. Joseph
January 4, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EST
FREE

Registration required for all Tuesday at Two programs. Visit the library to register or call 850-229-8879.

The modern city of St. Joe is near the site of one of the most important towns in Florida’s antebellum history – a frontier boomtown nearly wiped off the map in the 1840s by the twin scourge of a catastrophic hurricane and yellow fever epidemic. St. Joseph, near present day Oak Grove, was the site of the Florida territory’s first railroad, and of its Constitutional Convention. University of South Florida Archaeologist, Chris Hunt, will present his research based on the Herman and Pam Jones/Depot Creek Collection, now on display at the library.
Social distancing and masks encouraged for in-person library programming.
THE TUESDAY LECTURE SERIES

The eight-week Tuesdays at Two lecture series, free and open to the public, is made possible with support from the Friends of the Gulf County Public Libraries.

The series is held each Tuesday in January and February at 2 p.m. (ET) at the Corinne Costin Gibson Memorial Public Library, at 100 Library Drive, Port St. Joe.

On Tuesday Jan. 11 the topic “Dark Skies, Bright Lights” will be addressed by speaker Skip Marlin, a local astronomer.

On Tuesday, Jan. 18, Liz Sparks of the Florida Wildflower Foundation will speak on “Gulf County's Roadside Wildflowers: Pathways for Pollinators.”
