If you have questions about climate science that you would like to discuss with an actual climate scientist, you can get your chance this weekend.

Climate Up Close, a touring group of climate scientists, is holding several events from January 7th through the 9th at locations around our area.

Climate Up Close was founded to make the essentials of climate science accessible to a broad audience.

It includes scientists from NOAA, UC Berkeley, NYU, and Harvard University.

The events feature a 45-minute presentation that covers what scientists know about climate change, explores the boundary of current climate knowledge, details how climate change impacts extreme weather, and offers perspectives on what the future may hold.

The presentation is followed by 30 minutes of Q&A and then informal mingling time.

The events will be held this Friday, January the 7th at 10:30 AM at the public library in Port St. Joe and then at 2:30 at the Eastpoint Eastpoint Beer Company.

Saturday, January 8th at 2 p.m. it will be held at Wakulla Springs Wakulla Springs State Park, and then on

Sunday, January the 9th at 1 p.m. they will be at Scipio Creek Pavilion in Apalachicola.

You can get more information about the group and the events on-line at www.climateupclose.org.
