The St. Joseph Bay Humane Society is thanking all of the donors that took part in the Betty White Challenge that was held on January the 17th.
Betty White was a strong supporter of animal shelters, and the Betty White Challenge asked fans to donate to an animal shelter or rescue mission in her name.
Supporters of the St. Joseph Bay Humane Society raised 10 thousand dollars or the shelter, more than was raised for substantially larger shelters in Tallahassee, Pensacola or Dothan.
The Humane Society said the money will be used to save over 500 homeless animals this year.
The Franklin County Humane Society also did well during the one day event; it collected much needed supplies during the event as well as over 3200 dollars in cash donations.
