Franklin County has been awarded a 25-thousand-dollar economic development grant through the Duke Energy Foundation to develop a County Strategic Plan for Economic Development.
The plan will focus on areas such as business climate, workforce development, quality of life, infrastructure, workforce stabilization and diversity and tourism.
The plan will enhance Franklin County’s marketability as a quality base for a variety of businesses and outline ways in which local government can do a better job of supporting and promoting existing local businesses.
The Duke Energy will come to the next Franklin County Commission meeting to present the county with a check.
