There will be a ribbon cutting next week for the newly
reopened Pier at Lafayette Park in Apalachicola.
The pier was damaged during Hurricane Michael in 2018, and
was recently repaired with about 30 thousand dollars in funding from the
Franklin County Tourist Development Council.
The money will helped fund the repairs of the pavilion at the
end of the pier which is commonly used by people who are fishing or just want
to enjoy the view.
The county and the TDC also funded
the replacement of the City's interpretative signs which were also damaged
during the 2018 Hurricane Michael.
