Local business owner, Steve Rash, will be recognized by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday for his efforts in saving two young men from rough surf off St. George Island






Local business owner, Steve Rash, will be recognized by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday for his efforts in saving two young men from rough surf off St. George Island.

 

Steve is the owner of the Blue Parrot Oceanfront Café’.

 

On April 29th, Steve noticed two local teenagers struggling to make it out of the Gulf.

 

He grabbed a life jacket, ran into the water, and managed to pull both young men to safety.

 

First responders showed up soon after that to treat the young men, one of whom spent the night in the hospital.

 

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office will honor Steve Rash on Wednesday by presenting him with a Life Saving Award.

 

The ceremony will be held at 9:30 AM at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office on Highway 65.
