The state has kicked off its 2024 Summer BreakSpot program, which offers free nutritious meals, for eligible children under 18 at hundreds of locations across Florida

The state has kicked off its 2024 Summer BreakSpot program, which offers free nutritious meals, for eligible children under 18 at hundreds of locations across Florida.

Summer BreakSpot is part of the national Summer Food Service Program, a federally funded program administered by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

There are three locations for the Summer Breakspots in Franklin County.

They include the Franklin County School in Eastpoint which provides breakfast Monday through Thursday from 7:30 to 8 and lunch from 12:30 to 1.

The Carrabelle location is the Carrabelle Food Pantry which provides breakfast on Thursdays from 9 to 10 and lunch from 10 till 11.

The Summer Breakspot location in Apalachicola is Moving Education site at the city offices on Coach Wagoner Blvd.

They provide breakfast Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 9 and lunch from 12 to 12:30.
