We deeply appreciate her passion, integrity, dedication, and energy over the last eight months, all of which have significantly advanced our shared mission to protect and preserve the Apalachicola River. Explore the Apalachicola River region with us.   Sunday, February 16 — Garden of Eden Hike   Our staff and volunteer-led eco-educational outings are fun and memorable.  We hike in the spring and fall and kayak year round. Group size is limited and registration is required. Trips are donation based and your donation supports core education programs. Eco-Outings Reservation and Details Trey Fletcher joins Apalachicola Riverkeeper as Outreach Director. Trey Fletcher is a sixth generation Floridan who grew up in and around Quincy, Florida.  His youth was spent exploring the diverse ecosystems around the Apalachicola River Basin and the river itself and this inspired him to pursue degrees in anthropology and geology at FSU, and a masters degree in ecology at the University of Florida. Ghost Trap Rodeo 2025 The Ghost Trap Rodeo promotes community awareness of marine debris challenges facing Florida’s inshore fishery, mobilizing thousands of recreational and commercial angler volunteers for the detection and retrieval of ghost traps, abandoned fishing gear, and other types of man-made solid waste.  The numbers: 51 abandoned crab traps and a large amount of assorted debris totaling 3.28 tons were removed from the bay, shorelines and river.  Ghost Trap Rodeo 2025 SUPPORT OUR WORK   Apalachicola Riverkeeper P.O Box 8 Apalachicola , FL 32329 United States
