Kick Off May in Gulf County 🐢

Kick Off May in Gulf County

Saddle Up For the Rodeo This Weekend!

May in Gulf County brings a little bit of everything: warm days, local traditions, and weekends that feel easy but full. It’s the time of year when the calendar starts to fill up, and the best way to kick it off is with something classic.

The Gulf County Rodeo returns to Wewahitchka on May 2nd, bringing bulls, broncs, barrel racing, and plenty of small-town energy. Start your weekend with a Friday night rodeo dance, then settle in Saturday for a full night of action, laughter, and family-friendly fun under the lights.

It’s a tradition that feels as real as it gets and one you don’t want to miss.

A Festival Worth Savoring...

Celebrate a true local treasure on May 16th in Wewahitchka, home to our rare and sought-after Tupelo honey. Known as Gulf County’s liquid gold, this one-of-a-kind harvest takes center stage at the Tupelo Honey Festival with live music, local vendors, and plenty of sweet samples to enjoy.

Come Shell-ebrate With Us!

Join us on May 24th in Port St. Joe for the 10th Annual Forgotten Coast Sea Turtle Festival, a fun-filled day celebrating one of Gulf County’s most incredible visitors. Enjoy interactive exhibits, local vendors, and activities for all ages while learning more about the sea turtles that return to our shores each year.

It’s a great way to spend the day by the water and be part of what makes this place so special.
