FDC ANNOUNCES UP TO $6,000 HIRING BONUS FOR NEW HIRE CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS AT SELECT LOCATIONS
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is expanding recruitment incentives with a new $1,000 hiring bonus available at 13 correctional institutions statewide. At select institutions, eligible new correctional officers may also qualify for an existing $5,000 retention bonus, providing up to $6,000 in total incentives.

FDC correctional officers earn a starting salary of $22 per hour and receive paid training, high-risk retirement benefits, comprehensive State of Florida employee benefits, and numerous opportunities for career advancement.
Once certified by FDC Criminal Justice Standards & Training Commission, new FDC correctional officers are eligible to receive bonuses at the following institutions:
