We Should be Thanking Atlanta

I knew we were forgetting to do something - and that to thank the Corps of Engineers and the city of Atlanta for all the help they give the poor oystermen of the Apalachicola Bay. Georgia Environmental Protection Division Director Carol Couch says it best - “Oyster fishermen have a view that they are being short-sheeted and cheated on water flows. Well, they’re getting more flow than they would be getting naturally,” she said. “They’re getting more water in the driest months, completely making up for any consumptive use of the water from Georgia.” Thanks a ton.
