Barack Obama has made a campaign pledge to help solve the 20 year old water war between Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. The press release issued last week seemed to take everyone by surprise, especially since the only thing the current administration knows about the Gulf Coast is that New Orleans once stood somewhere down here and there's supposedly lots of oil. Obama is calling for the governors of Florida, Alabama and Georgia to start talking about the issue again, but this time he would like to add a scientific study of the issue to insure that the needs of the Apalachicola River and Bay are protected. I'll post the full press release next week (I left it at work) but you can read more about the story HERE, HERE and HERE
