Congressman Allen Boyd announces military academy appointments

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Allen Boyd today announced that nine students in the 2nd Congressional District have been appointed to the country’s military academies for the class of 2013, following a nomination by Congressman Boyd.

“I am so pleased to have nominated these outstanding students to serve our country at our military academies,” said Congressman Boyd. “These young people have demonstrated excellence both in and out of the classroom, and I look forward to great things from all of them.”

Below is the list of appointees from the 2nd Congressional District:

U.S. Air Force Academy

U.S. Military Academy – West Point

Each student received a nomination from Congressman Boyd after they completed the application process and interviewed with a local nomination selection committee. Appointees will report to their respective academy starting at the end of the month.
