Eastpoint woman saves drowning child
A 3 year old Blountstown girl is still alive thanks to the quick thinking of Eastpoint resident Crystal Segree. Segree is being recognized for providing CPR to 3 year old Jedan Owens at Camel Lake in Liberty County. Miss Segree was swimming at the lake on June 13th with her children when her son, Bailey, and another swimmer, David Trejo, pulled Jedan Owens from the water. Owens was not breathing, so Miss Segree began CPR. At first the child was not responsive but began breathing on her own before the ambulance arrived. Owens was taken to Tallahassee memorial Hospital for treatment and has since been released with no complications. Sheriff Skip Shiver said Miss Segree deserves special recognition for helping save little Jedan Owen’s life.
