FSU film students will be working near Carrabelle this week
Some FSU film students will be in Carrabelle this week shooting a short film, and they might need some locals who would like to be extras. The students, who are undergraduates at the FSU film school, are working on a 13 minute short film called “Forgotten Coast” about a city boy who flees life in the fast lane and finds peace in Carrabelle. The students will be in the county for 4 to 5 days of filming between July the 2nd and the 7th. They expect to film at Carrabelle beach, Harry’s bar, the gas station in Lanark Village and out on the water. The exact shoot schedule is still being worked out, but the group said it will need Hispanic looking women when they shoot a wedding scene on Carrabelle beach, and they would like a bar full of people when they shoot at Harry’s Bar. They also said they welcome people coming by just to watch the filming on any of the days they are here. The films producer, Mark Bendeck, said he expects the short film to be ready for film festivals by winter.
