No swimming advisories in Franklin County this week
For the first time this year there are no swimming advisories in Franklin County. Health officials test the waters at 6 popular swimming areas every week looking for bacteria that indicates whether human or animal waste is in the water that could pose a hazard to swimmers. That includes 4 sites on St. George Island, as well as Carrabelle beach and Alligator Point. This week all of the water samples came back clean. There are also no swimming advisories this week for Wakulla County where two beaches are tested. Moderate levels of the enterococcus bacteria were found at all of the 6 beaches tested in Gulf County this week – though no swimming advisory was issued in that county.
