DOT plans to spend 7 million dollars in Franklin County this year
The Department of Transportation will spend about 7 million dollars on road work in Franklin County this year. The county got a look at the 5 year work plan this week. Much of the money will go to the ongoing project on Highway 98 between Eastpoint and Carrabelle, though there will also be money for a number of sidewalk projects and for resurfacing portions of Highway 98 in Carrabelle and Highway 65 between Eastpoint and the Liberty County line. The Department of Transportation will also begin the preliminary engineering for a number of projects including repairs to the Ochlocknee Bridge which should begin in 2011 and a bike path near Carrabelle beach which should begin in 2013.
