FWC to hold open house on Friday
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will hold an open house on Friday afternoon from 2-5 so the public can get a close look at its newly constructed Carrabelle law enforcement office. The office is at 287 Graham Drive on Timber Island, the same location as the old office. The new 3,500-square-foot office replaces a 20 year old double-wide mobile home the FWC was using. The new building has secure storage rooms for evidence and records, six administrative offices and a squad room which FWC officers say better serves the needs of their staff and the public. The new office will serve as headquarters for 34 FWC field officers and administrative staff in Gadsden, Leon, Liberty, Franklin, Wakulla and Jefferson counties.
