Apalachicola man arrested for snatching money from local woman

Police arrested an Apalachicola man Monday for stealing money from a woman making a deposit at a local bank. The Franklin County sheriff’s office has charged 30 year old Harry James Hall the third of Apalachicola with robbery by sudden snatching and for giving a false name to a law enforcement officer. Police made the arrest early Monday morning after receiving a 911 call from a woman claiming to have been robbed while attempting to make a deposit at Superior Bank in Apalachicola. City police and county deputies were dispatched to the call when Deputy Quinnaland Rhodes noticed a suspicious man riding a bicycle on Commerce Street. The man was later identified as Harry James Hall. As the officer approached, Mister Hall tried to hide. Officer Rhodes found him pretty easily and found cash in Mister Hall’s pockets. He found an even larger amount of money from the spot where Mister Hall was attempting to hide.
