A portion of Vrooman Park in Eastpoint may soon be named after an Eastpoint boy who was killed in a car accident. The County Commission would like to name a portion of the park after Billy Ray Langley. Langley was 15 years old when he died last November after a car accident on South Bayshore Drive. Commissioners initially wanted to name a baseball field after him, but the three fields at Vrooman Park have already been named. The board now has staff from its Parks and recreation department looking at various locations in the park to see which will make a fitting memorial to Mister Langley. The board will make a final decision of the issue at their next meeting.
